Were there any surprises at all? The takeaways from the election results

Looking back over the decades, the parties differed but they were much closer. The left has moved so far left, that those Dems that were near the center…have been abandoned. My central mindset is much closer than those within their own party. So where are these votes coming from? Do people just pull the lever because of the letter “D”…with no thought about it?

Look at them try. :sunglasses:

Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised when Obama stands next to him and says, Fetterman is the best choice.

You mistake razz for disbelief. Pennsylvania Dems can troll all they want, but they’re going to have to live with a retarded version of Gru representing them in the senate.

What? You fpn’t want retards to be represented?

Ditto

I’m mildly shocked Hobbs is holding her own against Lake and might very well win. Not a great candidate, I didn’t think.

I thought Eric Adams fed enough energy into Lee Zeldin’s campaign that he would get over the top in New York.

I bought the idea that inflation would drive the vote and maybe it did but the other issues appear to have been decent enough swing issues it blunted the wave.

I’d say there are lessons for both parties, but both parties appear to be beyond lessons and will just keeping doing what they do.

So I can say that all the gimps in Texas will be continue to be well represented as well?

Disagree, hopefully. Republicans need to lose Trump as anything but an historical figure, like Carter. His mystique is surely ended by the results of those he pushed. You can forgive his almost comic egotism as long as it works. It isn’t working.

He claims a good run last night.

Yeah, well. Then there is the real world.

What are the real numbers?

I Have long thought we should build a wall around Cali. Maybe we should build one around penn as well.

California east evidently.

174 elected officials now own him a favor.

Even if the GOP had taken a net loss in the House he’d have what?? Maybe 170 elected officials owing him a favor.

What are the results of the Senate nominees he pushed?
As far as the House candidates or governors, is Trump going to claim victory for them? For DeSantis? For Abbott?
Trump wanted to ride the red wave. There wasn’t one.

OK, I guess I’m lost then. It sounded like you were disputing the 174 wins to 9 loses claim. It’s about time for another cup of coffee anyway.

I was not specifically referring to that claim as I don’t know where he got it from. Is he claiming victory on his part for every Republican who won re-election that he said he supported? The point is his ability to pull out the vote and increase the influence of the Republican Party, not whether many Republicans won re-election which they would have done with or without him.

What I gathered was that just about everyone he endorsed won. Admittedly though, I’m not up his ass like some generic lib, so I don’t usually pay attention to him outside the campaign trail/White House. He could very well be claiming more, but we’ll have to wait until the libs get done scanning his profile for their morning outrage. lol

Most of that 170+ were likely congressmen who were re-elected and would have been with or without Trump. If he is claiming victory for himself on that….sad.
