Were there any surprises at all? The takeaways from the election results

oh “banning” slavery

interesting

show me

“progress” huh?

banning slavery was

not “slavery” itself as tho it was an option

too much you people

good lord, semanticsman.

just grounded in reality and perspective

That is exactly what I said in the first post… did you miss that part?

Many states also had abortion on the ballot…

Are we going to get into semantics around that too?

probably, just for the sake of arguing.

not before your lying narrative:

it must annoy you that we see what you do

or, describing what actually is

dang it, huh?

you must be very proud of yourself.

devolved into focusing on the poster already?

i guess it’s only been three posts or so. good job

The takeaways from this election.

  1. Somebody needs to tell Trump to ■■■■ off, get lost, etc., etc., etc. That includes shutting the ■■■■ up and not endorsing anybody, attempting to humiliate anybody, attempting to threaten anybody, ad naseum.

  2. Republican primary voters need to use their own brain and some common sense in the primaries. If Trump does endorse somebody, that is prima facia evidence to vote for the other candidate. Pick somebody who can actually win. In a Yankee State like New Hampshire, that means a more moderate candidate such as Sununu. Conservatives are just not electable in that region.

  3. Abortion is as toxic an issue as Republicans as gun control is for Democrats. Republicans just need to STOP with the fetus fetishing and just need to leave the abortion issue alone. Every referendum held on abortion to this point has been a victory for pro-choice. The American public is pro-choice and Republicans are just going to go on losing if they just don’t ■■■■■■■ forget about abortion. Politicians need to acknowledge that the American people have effectively spoken on this issue and that they won’t push the subject anymore.

In many cases, the new abortion schemes voted in by voters are more permissive than what existed in Roe v Wade, including abortion on demand, without restriction, up to birth. So this pointless obsession with abortion is actually backfiring and creating more permissive rules than what existed under Roe.

  1. Republicans need to concentrate on core economic issues and try to educate the public on economic issues, including the true cause of inflation, etc.

  2. Republicans need to address the global trade situation, including educating the public on the evils of the Jones Act and building support for the repeal of the Jones Act.

  3. DeSantis seems to be a winner, nominate him for 2024.

  4. Republicans have a plausible path to 270 Electoral Votes in 2024, not assured by any means, but plausible. They also have a plausible path to undivided control of the Federal Government in 2024. However, so do the Democrats. But this is for another thread.

Basically, if they remove it, they have to keep the prisoners cooped up in a cage instead of getting them out there repaying society.

I’m surprised Harris County reelected Lina Loca to county judge.

I thought Missouri would be better than Amendment 3. We codified winners and losers into our Constitution.

Rick Caruso (Dem since 2019) Is winning for Los Angeles Mayor on the Homelessness problem. Mayor of LA is a pivotal spot for California Politicians. If he does what he is promising he will be a new political star—but the Dems think he is a secret Republican.
