Democrats in California need to reevaluate their priorities.
According to a 2022 report by the California Department of Education, 80% of drug-related deaths in California were due to fentanyl, and there were 6,000 opioid-related deaths in California in 2021, according to the California Department of Public Health. By comparison, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there were roughly 3,500 gun deaths in California in 2020.

We already have a federal gun law that will get you ten years in prison if you lie about such things as drug use.
What good are more drug laws if when you break one you are told to do a diversion program instead of having it enforced?
Enforce existing gun laws first.

Because it’s not about the drugs or existing gun laws.
It’s all about sending a message to us normal people that the government is God and above us plebeians.
Boy did he get a sweetheart deal today for pleading guilty. I wonder if that Mom who’s kid shot his first-grade teacher will get the same sort of deal.
