The third highest-ranking Republican in the House of Representatives urged her Democratic colleagues to hold a full vote on Rep. Ocasio-Cortez’ ‘Green New Deal’ Wednesday; saying liberal lawmakers need to be “held accountable.”
Rep. Liz Cheney -leader of the House Republicans Conference- dared left-wing legislators to go on the record regarding the massive government expansion proposal.
“We think Democrats need to be held accountable,” said Cheney. “If they support this as they say they do, and as their presidential candidates do, then let’s have a vote on it and see to what extent they’re all going to get behind moving toward this kind of fantasy.”
The GOP member went on to blast Cortez’ proposed legislation; saying the bill would “eliminate all planes, all air travel, within a decade. The results would be the elimination also of gasoline, the elimination of cars as we know them now.”
