Way too early Iowa polling

I yam what I yam.

Iā€™m always impressed by people doing accents.

More so when done in writing.

I just donā€™t know if this guy will be able to win in a primary where this headline could be used, but he is leading in the polls. I know there are centrist candidates, but what is this?

https://www.metrotimes.com/news-hits/archives/2019/01/23/new-york-times-joe-biden-campaigned-for-michigan-republican-ahead-of-midterms

Wow first I heard of this. Seriously? That is dumb ass ā– ā– ā– ā–

If we divide the dem candidates into young and old we have

Warren
Biden
Sanders
Sherod Brown

and

Harris
Booker
Beto?
Klobuchar
Gabbard
Gillibrand

I still think an oldster will win the nom and that a youngster will take a Veep spot.

I think winning most of the Rust Belt is the whole ball game and that Biden, Booker, Beto and Sherod Brown are probably the best for that area. Weā€™ll see.

Colorado isnā€™t solidly blue yet. They might go for a centrist republican in the future.

Yeah. Way too early. Nothing matters until the dems get together and debate who can make us go full socialism the fastest. Who can get the most people on public assistance. Who can be the most racially divisive and who can bring in the most illegals. The bat ā– ā– ā– ā–  craziness of the platform needs to be fully exploited first. Then we will know.

Rural whites gonna rural white.

I doubt theyā€™ll ever have anyone as socialist as Hillary Clinton was.

But Hillary was handed the nomination. They placed the crown at her feet. She didnā€™t have to battle for it. This crop of lunatics is going to have to fight it out. Thatā€™s when the fun begins.

Those rural whites did vote for Obama twice. Like I was saying earlier, Iowa is pretty important in checking the temperature of a large part of the electorate. I think itā€™s a bit unwise to simply dismiss it as just a bunch of hillbillies in flyover country.

Good to talk to you again, btw

Many of them did.

I guess I am just tired of trying to understand people who seem determined to make no sense. There is zero logic in a two time Obama supporter suddenly becoming an ardent Trump supporter. They are completely different in how they handle themselves as people, the policies they support, the level of seriousness they bring to the job, etc etc.

Itā€™s likeā€¦what the **** is going on in their heads?

Nice seeing you around these parts again as well.

True- but do those exist anymore on a national level?

Democrat policies include:

Increasing minimum wage to 15$/hr.
Addressing Climate Change
Sensible border security
Addressing budget deficits-
Ending corporate welfare- rolling back budget busting tax cuts
Environmental protections
Maintaining healthy alliances with our NATO partners
Ending massive tariff wars with half the world
Supporting womenā€™s rights, LGBTQ rights
Supporting alternatives to oil/coal, promoting green energy
Supporting reproductive rights of women
Supporting Intelligence community
Protecting our country from Russian interference and meddling in our elections

You know - sensible things that most of the country supports.

Michael Moore of all people an ardent Trump hater describes why they voted for Trump. It has to do with their jobs going away.

We have no clue at this point what the next GOP candidate will look like, many thought Jeb Bush or Rubio would have been the next president before Trump came in. I donā€™t think we have seen the last of Rubio running for President. I could be wrong but I think Trump is more of a one time thing, will have to wait and see I guess what happens in 2020 will point to the way the GOP goes, if Trump loses I would imagine the moderates will come back, if he wins however then itā€™s anyones guess.

Well, not all of them did, obviously. A lot of people probably voted who sat out previous election. Also, for people who donā€™t follow politics a whole lot, thereā€™s sort of a ā€˜superstarā€™ quality in both Obama and Trump. Both generated a lot of attention and buzz from media, maybe not for the same reason but if you donā€™t pay a lot of attention to the issues (which i believe is true for many Americans) name recognition plays a role.

And Hillary is unlikable. I liked her but apparently, nobody else wants to have a beer with her.
