Hours of thunderstorms and tornadoes slammed Ohio late Monday evening into Tuesday morning; leaving at least five million residents without power and the city of Dayton “unable to pump water.”

“Pictures posted to social media showed a massive funnel cloud near Trotwood, Ohio, eight miles northwest of Dayton. In its path, the twister left several apartment buildings damaged or destroyed,” reports Fox News.

“Just before midnight, and less than 45 minutes after that tornado cut through, the National Weather Service warned another one was traversing the same path, churning up debris densely enough to be seen on radar,” adds the article.

“It looks in areas like a war zone. Some of the houses were completely moved off their foundations and gone,” Celina Mayor Jeffrey Hazel said.

“The City of Dayton has issued a boil advisory for all water customers in Dayton and Montgomery County. This will not impact jurisdictions with separate systems, such as Oakwood, Huber Heights, Vandalia, Englewood, Miamisburg, Union, and West Carrollton,” posted the city’s social media account.
