WAR in Ukraine, Putin approves initiation of special military operation (Part 2)

Oh I missed that…can you tell me when you posted it in the old thread and I’ll go look it up?

i don’t have a clear answer myself.

Reports are that Putin asked to join NATO in 2000. NATO refused.

Instead today we have government-funded think tanks in Washington coming up with ways to partition Russia.

Everyone who is a Russian sycophant always leaves out this part:

but did not want his country to have to go through the usual application process and stand in line “with a lot of countries that don’t matter”

That right there is contrary to the spirit of NATO.

I’ll just say it again.

  1. we must first elicit global condemnation and calls for personal accountability
  2. we must demand that Putin be turned over for trial
  3. when that doesn’t happen, we must loudly proclaim that we have no hostility toward russia, we will not use nuclear weapons against russia, but if he is not trned over we will come and get him.
  4. all the while in the background assuring russian generals that we do not want russia, we will not occupy russia, and we will assist them in the aftermath to ensure the russian federation remains whole.
  5. when the time is right, if they have not killed him themselves, go in, hard and fast with messages to not resist, we only want Putin, and get out.

Maybe, that would work. I don’t see another option that doesn’t lead to armeggedon

Ukraine is asking for similar treatment along with Finland and Sweden. Russia is hardly unique.

then you should easily be able tp post the application.

except of course, they applied

No they aren’t asking for “similar treatment”.

Point to where the heads of Finland, Sweden and Ukraine have stated they want to jump over other states who “don’t matter”.

They are all going through the process.

You might have a chance if Clinton, Bush, and Obama faced trials for the starting wars using false narratives as pretexts. Together the wars that have killed more than a million people.

There is a reason why 85% of the world is not supporting NATO sanctions. NATO claims of moral superiority ring hollow.

i don’t recall nuking anything

This is pretty good. I don’t have anything to add.

Out of the box thinking.

So far the US is the only country that has ever used nuclear weapons in a war.

Collective amnesia is a common problem.

the simple fact is we do not need nukes to defeat russia, we just need about a week. they know that. so avoid the defeat, either give up putin or don’t resist when we come for him. hell, we’ll even thank and praise you for not resisting.

and still damn glad we did! think of all the american kids who would have never been born

And Japanese kids.

Context is key for everything.

We never used them again…even in the time we had the clear advantage…which lasted until after the Cuban Missile Crisis, actually.

Not saying there weren’t those who wanted to…

the only other possibility is to announce that we will liberate all of ukraine including the illegally annexed portions but will not enter russian territory nor do we want to fight russia and tell their troops they can either surrender or die.

i don’t think that has as much chance.

Yes, the last time the Germans invaded they had similar ideas about a quick victory. They did not even pack winter clothing.

lol. if you haven’t figured out yet how vastly overmatched the russian military is compared to our own, you haven’t been watching

How is Russian intervention in the civil war in Ukraine of vital interest to the US?

How are you so sure that NATO would win if we decided to send combat troops?

The US lost the war in Afghanistan. We lost the war in Viet Nam. Neither country had arms that were anywhere close to parity with those from the US.

i think you mean intervening in the russian intervention. better word would be invention since they felt free to instigate, arm, train and fight with the “separatist” since 2014.

i’m sure, it couldn’t be more obvious. and where did i say anything about conquering them?
