I’m going to say something about the woman shot in DC that my side of the spectrum is not going to like.

I don’t fault the guy for shooting her.

While training to go to Iraq we went through all kinda of training before hand, and one of those classes was on base and checkpoint defense.

When you are defending a piece of ground, you HAVE to have a line in the sand. We had an exercise where we had 3 soldiers manning a gate be approached by “unarmed protestors”.

Every single time the scenario was ran where the soldiers hesitated or waited on permission from higher to fire, the entrance was over ran and lost. In one case we got a good laugh watching the video as the protestors yanked the rifles out of the guards hand because they let them get too close.

On defense you must have a “line in the sand point” and you can’t rely on supervisors to tell you when it’s ok.

Byrd should be charged with 2nd degree murder.

There was no threat to him/them from an unarmed 115 lb woman. Zero.

She just happened to be the first that went through.

I don’t have the experience the other poster has, so my opinion is it was a bad shooting.

But it wasn’t an inexplicable shooting, and it wasn’t just one person that Byrd was dealing with.

In my opinion, your side would get a lot more sympathy if it stopped, trying to miscast the shooting as just an armed officer against just one small woman.

Military aid has already been given to Ukraine to carry out a Spring/Summer offensive. Additional aid will likely be contingent on how Ukraine does.

Ukraine has actually been given squat beyond artillery and ADA systems. And most of that artillery is to replace the old Soviet systems that are running out of ammo and barrels. They aren’t getting the tanks in time, or in numbers to do anything. It will probably be a year from now when they get the 31 M1s. We can manufacture 12 a month. 2 other nations have orders in front of Ukraine. Poland is one of them, with over 350 ordered.

That’s incorrect.

In a mob situation all she would have to do is occupy his attention long enough for others to get in.

You have to draw a line somewhere.
