US issues a red line warning to China

Why didn’t Europe stop Hitler sooner?

Why did the US have to get involved at all?

Support is collapsing for it here at home as well.

“we have always been at war with Eastasia”

Good job, Bill. You got Six, b’en, Doc and tzu on the same side of an issue.

So the US doesn’t count since half support Ukraine and half want to pull out? Or is that (d)ifferent?

You might want to start by posting a poll that actually shows half of the US is against it.

Just did. In fact the apathetic 1/3 counts towards against imo.

That’s not how polls work. But okay.

Yes it is. That’s exactly how they work. The apathetic 1/3 counts against support for war mongering.

The nation building as already started.

They should have but didn’t. Hoping to negotiate away the problem.

Much like now. Only now most of Europe has a military that couldn’t fight its way out of a wet sack. We, the US, let them get lazy and lax relying on us for strength while they dumped their defense budgets into social programs.

Finding out that when you start to think you don’t need a military any more is about the time you find out you needed a bigger one all along.

We didnt LET them get lazy.

We WANTED them to get lazy.

NATO was the way it was according to US design.

It is a maxim that great powers want as few rivals as possible.

Why people today do not understand that NATO was designed to ensure US hegemony is beyond me.

Re: China…I’m sure Xi has stuff up his sleeve because China plays the long game but I note:

*contrition and embarrassment from them over the spy balloon incident
*immediate change of tone from potentially helping Russia to once again saying the war should be brought to and end with a cease fire and resumption of negotiations.

We had peace and prosperity under Trump. But, gosh those mean tweets.

No you didn’t have peace. But keep repeating it. One day it will be true.

Also you had prosperity under Obama. I am sure you appreciated that as well

We had peace and prosperity in Europe from 1923-1936 as well…

Well prosperity from 1923-29…

I wouldn’t call several revolutionary uprisings peaceful .

Ummm…Yemen? Continuation of war in Afghanistan?

Under the definition of what they were calling peace and prosperity under Trump, I would.
