Tucker Carlson misses the point: our socialist/communist crowd promotes democracy!

I know you’re not that daft… is this some sort of semantics argument? Is it because we do it indirectly? Is it because they tend to be worded that the state can’t do _____ to stop the citizen from doing _____?

I don’t think the Senate is useless.

Name one right that was created by an amendment.

Well, you’re wrong.

That’s laughable if you are contending that US system of electing officials makes us a Republic vs a Democracy being 1 person = 1 vote. How can a person matter more in a system where depending on which state you are in your vote may not carry the same weight as a person in another state or for that matter if we are going old school electoral college your vote might be completely ignored.

While I think direct democracy is not a good system, it can be easily argued that a situation where an individual gets to vote on every question vs one where they elect a person who may or may not vote the way they would have, that in the former the individual matters more.

The 15th gave the right to vote to non-whites.

Okay buddy… good talk.

If the voter doesn’t matter, the democracy, republic distinction is moot.

My vote for president would matter here in Texas a whole lot more than in our EC system.

And in the former which you mention, where an individual gets to vote on every question, is exactly what our founders referred to as a “democracy” and understood its evil nature. In speaking of “democracy” Madison, in Federalist No. 10 says in reference to “democracy” they

“…have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths. Theoretic politicians, who have patronized this species of government, have erroneously supposed that by reducing mankind to a perfect equality in their political rights, they would, at the same time, be perfectly equalized and assimilated in their possessions, their opinions, and their passions.”

And during the Convention which framed our federal Constitution, Elbridge Gerry and Roger Sherman, delegates from Massachusetts and Connecticut, urged the Convention to create a system which would eliminate “the evils we experience,” saying that those “evils . . .flow from the excess of democracy…”

And, then there was John Adams, a principle force in the American Revolutionary period who also pointed out “democracy will envy all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all; and when by chance it happens to get the upper hand for a short time, it will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel…”

And Samuel Adams, a signer of the Declaration of Independence and favoring the new Constitution as opposed to democracy declared: "Democracy never lasts long” . . . “It soon wastes, exhausts and murders itself.”. . . “There was never a democracy that ‘did not commit suicide.’”

And during the Constitutional Convention, Hamilton stated: “We are a Republican Government. Real liberty is never found in despotism or in the extremes of Democracy.”

And then there was Benjamin Franklin, who informed a crowd when exiting the Convention as to what system of government they created, he responded by saying “A republic, if you can keep it.”

And finally, our Constitution, in crystal clear languages declares: "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government . . . "

Democracy, or majority rule vote, as the Founding Fathers well knew, whether that majority rule is practiced directly by the people or by elected representatives, if not restrained by specific limitations and particular guarantees in which the unalienable rights of mankind are put beyond the reach of political majorities, have proven throughout history to eventually result in nothing less than an unbridled mob rule system susceptible to the wants and passions of a political majority imposing its will upon those who may be outvoted, and would result in the subjugation of unalienable rights, and especially rights associated with property ownership.

But hey, our beloved Tucker Carlson seems to have an ongoing and never ending love affair with embracing “democracy”, while never attempting to identify the evil nature of “democracy”, nor the specific checks and balances our founders put into our Constitution to protect us from those evils.

They are not whistleblowers. They are shadow government operatives who are working to take down a president who refuses to cave into domestic communists, socialists, and international GLOBALISTS who have been plundering America’s wealth for the past two generations.

Yes… Pure democracy is a tyranny of 50% +1. They don’t teach the founding anymore. It’s the height of the enlightenment.

Meanwhile, Leftism caused the largest mass murders in the history of earth.

Don’t be such a robot, John!

Democracy: a system of government by the whole population or all the eligible members of a state, typically through elected representatives.

Direct Democracy: Those eligible to vote directly vote on individual issues.

Representative Democracy: Those eligible to vote, vote for representatives who vote on individual issues.

Republic: A state where the head of state is not a monarch.

All of the above except direct democracy are applicable to the US.

There’s nothing inherent to direct (aka pure) democracy that precludes requiring a supermajority to pass a laws and make decisions. Just put those rules in the constitution.

And yet, you refuse to use our Constitution to determine the form of government which is guaranteed:

. . .
ARTICLE 4

Section 4.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government,

It’s not a “Deep State”. It’s a subversive “Shadow Government” which began to entrench itself during Ronald Reagan’s presidency. Its mission being, to advance GLOBALIST and socialist policies, and obstruct attempts to roll back such policies.

I am not contenting any such thing.

The right to vote already existed.

Not voter. Individual.

They don’t know the difference. It’s not their fault.

Huh?

Actually, they [communists and socialists] do know the difference, and it is why they constantly promote “democracy”. They embrace mob rule. Are they not openly promoting an end to the Electoral College?

Did they not work to adopt the 17th Amendment which was intended to bring us closer to a "democracy”, which Tucker Carlson embraces with open arms?

Have they not embraced a plan to overhaul the Supreme Court and add 10 more members, so the will of the people can be more accurately reflected by the Court and enforce it, as opposed to enforcing the rule of law?

Indeed, these people know exactly what they mean when they promote “democracy” . . . three wolves and a sheep voting for dinner’s menu.
