Trump's vendetta against Amazon is getting out of control

Get out…

I don’t want to fund business profit with tax payers’ hard earned income.

I was primarily pointing out that he was honest that it’s not about principals, issues, or conservatism generally.

No, seriously. The Post Office is one of the few things that is explicitly called for in the Constitution. It’s a huge boon to industry and commerce and, even with the internet, an indispensable “public good”.

I just don’t understand the whole “it should be profitable”. Nothing else called for in the Constitution is expected to “make money”. Nobody says the Census or the military has to make money.

Well the taxpayers are getting a profit from Amazon. Seems like a good deal all around.

tell me more how you are screaming from the mountain tops about Trump flying to Mar la go every weekend

the PO will be breaking even in a decade or two.

THIS IS NOT ABOUT THAT!!!

this is about President Donald Trump using government to go after CEO Jeff Bezos because he owns the Washington Post.

Geez.

I chose the wrong word when I said “profitable”. I meant to say “break even”. The government shouldn’t be in this to make a profit but they should be able to break even IMO.

In my opinion Trump should consider all expenses when deciding whether or not to do or not to do something that is primarily for personal reasons. Going to Mara Largo every weekend is financially wrong for the country.

Why though?

Why doesn’t the Census have to be a break even proposition? Or the military? Do you look at everything as purely transactional?

Is it impossible to look at something that is a public boon and investment

Except tax payers taxes don’t go to fund the post office. Surely you knew this.

Why do you say that? If there’s a loss, where does operating capital come from?

They borrow it just like every other company

from? Say it with me…

What part of borrowed don’t get get?

That’s what I don’t understand, they obvious were above board with their shipping cost contracts with the USPS. I’m with you, why is Trump making comments like these, and why single out Amazon.com?

What part of “from who” do you not understand?

CEO Jeff Bezos owns the Washington Post.

If he is just doing this for some kind of personal disagreements with Bezos, it would certainly be beneath the office of the President of the US to engage in.

it’s exactly what he’s doing and nothing is below Donald Trump.
