A president ordering investigations of specific individuals whom he considers to be his political enemies is a remarkable breach of the traditional wall of separation between the White House and the Justice Department. Under that norm of separation, criminal investigations are supposed to be insulated from political pressure, but Trump has repeatedly scorned the notion of DOJ independence. Making Wednesday’s action even more remarkable, and perhaps unprecedented, is that Trump used the formal power of executive orders to effectively brand two individuals as subjects of criminal investigations.
That’s why I hated the way they handled January 6th. They should have had a truth and reconciliation hearing based on South Africa’s instead. To promote some healing. Not this nonsense we’ve had going on for a few years now and that Trump is all too happy to expand upon.
They are again doing exactly what they always do. Cry like toddlers when their own tactics are used on them and demand the other side turn the other cheek and treat them with deference. Their whole toolbox right now is litigation but don’t you dare to use litigation against them… Then they scream “unfair”.
Your side has already said out loud it’s going to be nothing but litigation for Trump and his admin. Yall whine if anyone dares to even question anything your side does.
I hear the back of the bus is where your side belongs if you really want to actually play by your “rules”.
I don’t think you understand what Trump just did. It’s nothing like endless congressional investigations, or endless litigation, of which both sides freely participate in.
It is using the power of the presidency to call out an american citizen for investigation.
Or do you mean like biden’s DOJ going after soccer moms for voicing opposition to tranny training for elementary school children and DEI infesting the curriculum?
Or perhaps you mean like the lawfare campaign waged on all things Trump.
Doesn’t matter. You are getting a dose of your own medicine and I say GOOD. About time!
