President Trump announced his Executive Order halting new immigrant visas during a White House press briefing Thursday; saying the move will put American workers and patients first during the deadly Coronavirus outbreak.

“In order to protect our great American workers, I’ve signed an Executive Order temporarily suspending immigration into the United States. This will ensure Americans of all backgrounds will be first in-line for jobs as our economy re-opens,” said the President.
