President Trump slammed the Democratic Party in a scathing op-ed piece published by USA Today Wednesday; saying liberals across the country are trying to model the American economy on Venezuelan-style, open-border socialism.
The Commander-in-Chief ripped left-wing hopefuls just weeks ahead of the 2018 midterm elections; blasting their plan to unveil a “Medicare for All” system should they retake control of Congress this fall.
“The Democrats’ plan means that after a life of hard work and sacrifice, seniors would no longer be able to depend on the benefits they were promised,” writes the President. “In practice, the Democratic Party’s so-called Medicare for All would really be Medicare for None. Under the Democrats’ plan, today’s Medicare would be forced to die.”
“The truth is that the centrist Democratic Party is dead. The new Democrats are radical socialists who want to model America’s economy after Venezuela,” he adds.
