Trump pharmacy good. mamdani grocery stores bad

and yet you supported medicaid negotiating drug prices… odd that.

I did not, because it would be medicaid paying for them and allowing the government as a purchaser the power to coerce companies to sell to the government is replete with opportunities for massive fraud and corruption. Here the price was negotiated and people can choose to use it or not. The government is not the buyer, or the seller.

Did the government say "give us this price or there will be tariffs and “trouble”? No, they did not. That’s the Banana republic part you don’t want to admit to.

They did not “negotiate”. They threatened. With the force of the US Government behind the threat.

did they? I don’t know what coersion they used. I don’t know what kickbacks negotiators got for accepting higher prices. I don’t know what trade offs were given. you don’t either. The only ting I know about it, is it was me paying for it.

No, they did not act like government-sponsored jackboots threatening tariffs and “trouble”.

you have no idea what they did. Don’t pretend you do

Prior to this administration CMS wasn’t run by thugs. It’s embarrassing that just because the current administration is using threats against the private sector you think that:

  1. That’s just fine!
    and
  2. Every other administration used threats against the private sector.
    .
When the government threatens the private sector with “trouble”, it’s not a negotiation.

The bargaining included the threat of tariffs stemming from an ongoing investigation into whether pharmaceutical imports posed a threat to national security. The deal with Pfizer includes a three-year grace period from those tariffs, and its CEO said the company would invest $70 billion to reshore manufacturing of drugs sold domestically. Of tariffs, Bourla (Pfizer CEO) said, the “president is absolutely right. It is the most powerful tool to motivate behaviors.”

TrumpRx website for drug discounts is part of Pfizer deal : Shots - Health News : NPR.

Extortion backed by the world’s largest army. Modern conservative “capitalism”.

Ya see, TrumpRX will connect the patsies to *his favored supplier. Probably someone already very wealthy, who has already bought the domain name, and who will make sure :tangerine: gets his uh… piece. Of the action :wink:

LOL… Thugs. You guys are funny. Sorry, I don’t bleed tears for big Pharma. There’s nothing wrong with this program. It costs me nothing, and saves people who need it money.

Threatened tariffs result in drug companies spending 70B to manufacture right here in the good ole USA… what a great deal! and, exactly what tariffs are supposed to do

Agreed.

so then, you must be upset about the drug companies agreeing to discounted pricing that people who lack insurance will be able to take advantage of when they get prescriptions.

Why am I upset about that?

Thats kind of my question for those complaining about this?

  1. Threatened tariffs did exactly what you want either tariffs or the threat of tariffs to do. Spur domestic manufacture. I assume thats good
  2. As part of a deal to delay tariffs 3 years the drug companies agreed to discount drug prices for people paying full freight. I assume thats good
  3. To help people find the discounted drugs the government created a website that will link them to pharmacies offering the discount. I assume thats good
  4. It costs me nothing, and saves people money. I assume thats good

The problem here really seems to be that its called “TrumpRX”. Pure TDS

Waited a few dozen posts to see if there were any arguments that could explain the huge difference in enthusiasm for TrumpRX vs Biden’s RX negotiations.

There arent.

Yes, you see nothing wrong with the government strong-arming companies with threats of tariffs and “trouble”.

Long Live the Banana Republic!
