Trump is helping revive the liberal party of canada

here is the gift link from the times

“In Canada, for instance, the Liberal Party mounted an extraordinary comeback against the Conservatives this week. Mark Carney, the incoming prime minister, helped revive his party with a promise to oppose Trump: “Canada never, ever will be part of America in any way, shape or form,” Carney said of the president’s threat to annex his country. “Make no mistake. In trade as in hockey, Canada will win.”

what seems good policy for the MAGA folk here in the US is doing wonders for the flagging hopes of the liberal party of Canada in the upcoming Canadian election.

perhaps one of our esteemed forumites from Canada will further expound upon the canadian election that seem to spell doom for the liberal party a couple of short months ago.

The Canadian citizens have to do what we the American citizens did and that was to stand up against the liberal idiocy of @biggestal99 and the likes there of. :sunglasses: :tumbler_glass:

I agree that annexing the entire country would not be good for anyone. But Alberta is free to join the US. I’m not even sure they’d mind.

I have no idea why Trump keeps repeating this about Canada. Adding all of Canada would just move the US further to the left. I’d much rather support Calexit.

Yeah i don’t get it either.

They seem farther left even than our libs.

I don’t want them.

I think Canadian leaders should start talking openly about adding the United States as their 11th province.

I think he’s trolling them. Canada has the population similar to California. Making them a state shouldn’t even be considered. But like I said before, poaching Alberta from them would be good.

That would require them to have a sense of humor.

Not sure if this thread is serious, or if Trump is serious, or what…

But the previous four years of the Biden administration certainly revived the GOP and made Trump’s victory certain.

He is trolling and mocking Trudeau who deserves every bit of the insults. And it appears that Alberta is ready to become a part of the USA as I saw a clip on either Newsmax or Fox News of a high powered businessman or politician wanting a meeting at the WH.

Indeed!! MAGA is revitalizing the Grand Old Party and DOGE is actually cleaning up the DC swamp of bureaucrats and will hopefully shrink our bloated government… bigly! I hope young and minority voters stay the course because it’s their future at stake. I’d like to see the Independant and Libertarian political parties rise while the Democrat Party sinks like an anvil. We never want one party rule but the America last Democrat Party has to go!

Does a Canadian province have the option of leaving Canada if the people wish it, unlike an American state?

Trump’s comments about Canada are pretty damn insulting.

What’s his deal with this? Why is he so interested in being rude to one of our best allies and large trading partner?

Canada will do what it wants… If they want to continue down the road of Marxism, fine. Make the
people poorer. But why should we let them tariff the heck out of US, with no retaliation?

In fact Trump is helping them deindustrialize like the EU’s goals for it’s future. Go ahead buy it all from China. The biggest polluter in the world.

He’s pushing the issues to get it resolved faster.

What’s the issue?

According to Statistics Canada, the Canadian median income was $68,400 CAD in 2021, whereas in the same year, the US median income was $70,784 USD, according to the US Census. It doesn’t look like a massive difference but keep conversion rates in mind — $68,400 CAD is equal to $50,348 in USD
Canadians other than the phylthy rich and elitist scum, compared to American wage earners are the working poor. Plus Canadians are taxed at a much higher rate than American workers. I don’t know how they do it! This liberal-socialist “takeover” by Canadian politicos might run off the rails once Canucks realize they’re being ripped off royally!

I do not think a Canadian province has the same independence as a US State. I could be wrong, I just don’t think so. Because if our federal government disappeared tomorrow, we’d be 50 separate countries if I’m not mistaken.

That, in itself, is an eye opener.

Not so very long ago, a 50K salary was considered substantial. Now a burger flipper can make 50K. And still want more.

Trump trolled the governor of NY, you think he’s going to hold back for Canada? He’s developed a very rough edge as a result of being attacked from every direction for the better part of 8 years. He’s not going to play nice.
