No matter whether you’re talking about ethnic nationalism or civic nationalism, it’s still nationalism. It’s still based on national identity and conflict with other nations.
That’s what you think globalism means?
What does USSR stand for? Because we all know they called themselves communist and socialist as thought it was no different. What is Venezuela?
So, your response is to ask the same question over again…lol!
Craw fishing much?
How does civic nationalism conflict with other nations?
Does all moral, civic and ideology conflicts with others ideology?
Or do you believe in global homogenization?
You honestly believe that Trump was speaking about “civic nationalism” when he called himself a “nationalist”?
Or are you arguing just to argue?

If you’re talking to me I already said Trump needs to study up on it.
Nationalism, whether it’s “civic” nationalism or ethnic nationalism, is based on conflict with other nations. That’s where the nationalist identity comes from - the superiority of their “nation”, and victory over the other nations.
My identity is defined by my individuality, not by my unquestioning loyalty to the nation I’m a citizen of. So no - I don’t “believe in global homogenization”.
I mean if you want to argue about the various types of “nationalism” and its application in government you could just start a thread about it…
This thread is about Trump spouting stupid crap as usual
America first. Its not that hard of an understanding.

So, your response is to ask the same question over again…lol!
I’m asking for the purpose of clarification.
To you, globalization means “giving up sovereignty”. To me, globalization means engaging with the rest of the world through trade and cooperation.
Since we appear to be talking about entirely different things, one of us has the definition wrong.
Hint: it’s not me.
But you live with millions of other people that define their identity similiar…as individuals.
Or do you think you’re exception that the rule?
You don’t get to decide the path of thread takes once it’s started.
Have a problem flag my posts.

Sounds to me you have some Trump in you.

No, of course not.
I’m certainly not arguing that America itself is a “nationalist” country.

Sounds to me you have some Trump in you.
“Trade is bad” Trump?

Interesting how fat donald kept mentioning “Nationalism” but never once mentioned “Conservatism”.
Donald defeated conservatism.
Conservatism is dead replaced by Trumpism aka “nationalism” and not the “civic” kind

America first. Its not that hard of an understanding.
It’s so fascinating that a term that was last used _literal Nazi sympathizers _ is suddenly back in vogue with Donald Trump.
Dr Freaken Suess dealt with this garbage
That’s from 60 years ago and it’s just applicable today damn it!
Our nation was founded on liberty, respect for indivudl rights, restricting the powers of government itself so society can advance its maximum freedom.
One that I hope you share even thou we are ideology different.
