Wow, a million birds - why, that’s a whole tenth of a percent of the billion birds a year killed flying into buildings in the US. Something must be done - ban buildings, maybe?

The truth is there’s a lot of ■■■■ that kills birds - buildings, cars, hunters, fishing line, poison, airplanes, cats - to name a few. Is there a bird shortage or something? Why the focus on one relatively inconsequential thing? A typical skyscraper likely kills a lot more birds in a year than a wind turbine.
I’ve heard people say the same thing to excuse their littering. “What difference does it make? There is trash everywhere.”
