Trump: "I know a lot about wind" (3-28-2019)

oil rigs are everywhere in the US, as are wind turbines.

they are national problems, not local.

Allan

lol still struggling to back up your statement.

Libs don’t tend to have the capacity to admit that they are an absolute terror to their surroundings and to little slave kids in Africa.

No it doesn’t. Wildlife coexists with the oil rigs in the north slope wilderness just fine.

One well out of how many?

Oil in the ocean is natural. Some 20 to 25 tons of crude seep into the ocean every day off Santa Barbara, California alone. There are trillions of hydrocarbon eating organisms in the water that rely on the oil. And in turn, those organisms are the bottom of the food chain that feeds millions of fish which in turn feed you.

If you are so outraged about oil production, you out to boycott the products that utilize oil … like your computer. That should also help reduce the pollutants that do spew from your house.

Actually, there are places where wind does blow 24/7, but they have other problems that make them a literal nightmare to put a windmill. They are called oceans.

Basically, you don’t know what you’re talking about. The tires on your car kill more fish than oil wells do.

By the way, if you ever go ocean fishing out in the Gulf of Mexico, the best place to go is around the oil rig platforms … fish love 'em.

Yeah, he’s a pin ball critic.

Nonsense. Oil rigs only exist where there are oil deposits, whereas the wind blows everywhere.

Furthermore, wind turbines would not exist and cannot operate without oil. So unless you want to import 100% of our oil (after all overseas oil production is environmentally pristine, right?) they are inextricably tied to oil rigs.

oil rigs have never killed fish.

its documented.

Allan

Nobody said “never.”

and how many birds are killed by wind turbines.

Allan

Hundreds of thousands … and counting.

what percentage? like .01%.

acceptable losses for generating 10% of the United states electricity.

of course you disagree.

Allan

There ya go … about the ten times percentage as oil rigs that spew oil.

rigs have ben around longer.

just give wind 50 years from now and we will talk again.

Allan

Good point. The safety and environmental record of oil rigs shows they do not imperial the environment, while the damage from mega wind generators is just beginning.

If I had to pick the perfect image to sum up the incompetence of this administration, this would be the image.

The official X account of the Department of Energy posts an image of a Trump post that features a picture of a windmill and a dead bird, with the caption, “Windmills are killing all of our beautiful Bald Eagles!”

The only problem, well there are several, is 1) that’s not a bald eagle and 2) that image is from Israel and was taken in 2017.

there are no wild bald eagles in Israel. it is a new world bird. maybe escaped from a zoo, with a bad dye job?
