Oil in the ocean is natural. Some 20 to 25 tons of crude seep into the ocean every day off Santa Barbara, California alone. There are trillions of hydrocarbon eating organisms in the water that rely on the oil. And in turn, those organisms are the bottom of the food chain that feeds millions of fish which in turn feed you.
If you are so outraged about oil production, you out to boycott the products that utilize oil … like your computer. That should also help reduce the pollutants that do spew from your house.
Actually, there are places where wind does blow 24/7, but they have other problems that make them a literal nightmare to put a windmill. They are called oceans.
Nonsense. Oil rigs only exist where there are oil deposits, whereas the wind blows everywhere.
Furthermore, wind turbines would not exist and cannot operate without oil. So unless you want to import 100% of our oil (after all overseas oil production is environmentally pristine, right?) they are inextricably tied to oil rigs.
Good point. The safety and environmental record of oil rigs shows they do not imperial the environment, while the damage from mega wind generators is just beginning.
If I had to pick the perfect image to sum up the incompetence of this administration, this would be the image.
The official X account of the Department of Energy posts an image of a Trump post that features a picture of a windmill and a dead bird, with the caption, “Windmills are killing all of our beautiful Bald Eagles!”
The only problem, well there are several, is 1) that’s not a bald eagle and 2) that image is from Israel and was taken in 2017.
