Trump hits Federal Reserve as the 'most difficult problem' facing US

It’s not the invasion at the Southern border anymore. It’s not the people dying there. It’s not drug addiction or the national debt.

It’s that interest rights haven’t been cut to make him look better.

That your president folks.

I took the liberty of correcting that sentence;

President Trump took aim at the Federal Reserve on Saturday, labeling it the “most difficult problem” the ultra wealthy face and again criticizing the independent central bank for raising interest rates.

If the King of Debt (who was repeatedly bailed out by daddy) doesn’t know financial stuff, who does?

Isn’t it bonkers that the President is complaining about 2.5% interest rates?

Money money money money.

Of course, Donald Trump is correct about the problems facing America. The Federal Reserve is a well known den of NeverTrumpers and Establishment Swamp Creatures. The fact that they are willing to sabotage Donald Trump’s amazing economy just to damage him politically is outrageous. If this happened when Obama was president you libs would be screaming about this. The Federal Reserve needs to realize who their boss is. Either they keep interest rates at a fair level, or he might start firing people. Libs would probably be upset about that too, but Trump is going to do whatever he’s going to do. You can’t stop him. He could Executive Order the interest rates to be lowered if he wants to. He doesn’t want to have to take that step, but he could do it if the Fed isn’t being fair.

Especially given that he surely remembers the good old days 18-20%

What does he care, by the time the next recession happens on the economic cycle he’ll likely either be out of office or a lame duck president. He could not care less if there is no room for interest rate cuts in a recession economy. He wants to look good now. His myopic economic view is well-known.

Those points are correct but they are magnified in Trump’s eyes by the Feds position as an independent agency. Trump’s underlying model is dictatorial – which is why he cozies up to Putin, Kim and MBS. He wants to control the Fed and its independence bothers him deeply.

In running the Trump Organization, he had the power to be dictatorial. As a privately held company, he answered to no board. He staffed his children in key positions and I don’t think anyone can name an executive who rose up in the Trump organization and went on to an esteemed leadership role anywhere else. Transferring this style to the Executive Branch… well that’s why so many Executive Branch positions have never been filled by Trump.

If Trump forces the Fed to fluff up the market to enable his re-election he is creating the groundwork for disaster when the next recession hits.

I agree. Trump is a dictatorial short-sighted President, just as he was a dictatorial short-sighted business owner. Neither works well.

Yes!!

Why would he need an Executive Order? Can’t he just grab the interest rates by the c***** and pull them down. When you’re a celebrity interest rates let you do that.

…not to mention, a pretty good re-enactment of the basis for each liberal whine thread of the day.

Step 1 The President complains about the Fed.

Step 2 People comment on it.

Step 3 say that liberals are whining without adding any bit of cogent commentary

Step4 ???Profit???

Well, yes, that’s what Donnie said, but do you have any independent opinion on his comments today?

I wonder what level of Trump Enterprises is being affected for him to say this. Because you know that’s what’s happening.

If only Trump could put one of his best people in the Fed chair he wouldn’t have these problems.

Remember that time when Candidate Trump said he would borrow a bunch of money to fund infrastructure and if the economic boost didn’t happen from that he would ask the creditors of the United States to take a haircut?

That is the guy that says that Federal Reserve is the greatest problem for the economy.
