“It’s a great recognition of the president’s courageous decision to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” said David Friedman, the U.S. ambassador to Israel. “It’s absolutely beautiful.”

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu toured the Golan Heights over the holiday weekend; saying he intends to name a future community in the region in honor of President Trump.

“If Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has his way, alongside Katzrin, Ramot and Ramat Magshimim on the Golan Heights, there may someday soon be a community named Kiryat Trump,” reports the Jerusalem Post.

“Netanyahu, who on Tuesday toured the Golan with his wife and sons, said a community or neighborhood on the Golan Heights should be named after US President Donald Trump in appreciation for his decision last month to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the strategic plateau,” adds the author.

President Trump ended decades of political turmoil regarding the Golan Heights just weeks ago; confirming the United States views the region as “sovereign” territory controlled by the State of Israel.
