New York Democratic socialist candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez found herself in hot water this week after she referred to Israel as the “occupiers of Palestine” in a recent interview.

Cortez was speaking with PBS when she was asked to weigh-in on unfolding events in the Middle East, particularly the growing conflict between the Israeli Defense Forces and Hamas-backed fighters.

“I think that what people are starting to see with the occupation of Palestine is just an increasing crisis of humanitarian conditions,” said Cortez.

“You used the term occupation of Palestine, what did you mean by that?” pressed the reporter.

“What I meant, is like, the settlements,” she fired-back.

Where was the outrage when GWB said the same thing -

"The US president, George Bush, today called on Israel to end its 41-year occupation of Palestinian land and predicted a peace treaty would be signed by the time he leaves office.

Speaking after a meeting with the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, Bush said: "There should be an end to the occupation that began in 1967. An agreement must establish Palestine as a homeland for the Palestinian people, just as Israel is a homeland for the Jewish people."
