Totally Useless Info

And if you ever encounter the Mantis Shrimp on your next diving expedition, don’t get into a head-butting contest…

Had to drive down Hwy 17 to Wilmington, NC this afternoon…What a traffic nightmare… :rage:

Apparently an asteroid hit near Iceland on 2022.

What is most useless about it to me is what they equated it to for size. “Giraffe.”

Huh? That’s one of the most odd-shaped things they could have picked, in my opinion.

A giraffe-sized asteroid struck off the coast of Iceland last Friday, but astronomers didn’t see it coming until just before it hit — leaving many to question how safe earth would be if a larger item had made contact instead.

LOL I remember that!

A mild 83 with a heat index of 92. Received about two inches of rain from TS Chantal today. No rain predicted in the forecast until next Wednesday so I will be able to cut the grass tomorrow or Tuesday.

Voyager-1 has been traveling for almost 50 years, and still it is not even one light-day away from Earth.

They calculate that it will reach one light-day in November of 2026.

On average, 100 people choke to death on ballpoint pens each year… :flushed:

Mowed the grass, weed whacked, pulled weeds, and installed a solar powered hanging bird bath.

I took my 14 y/o teacup chihuahua out into the backyard yesterday evening to potty, and either a hawk or falcon swooped in and took her away. We are so heartbroken… :sob:

Has anyone else noticed that the tallest buildings in every city are always owned by the banks?

no way!

My 6 year old just pointed out that it’s 800 hours in the morning. I told him he was very close to military time there, to which he asked me, “what if it was 800 million hours?”

Turns out, 800 million hours is just over 91,324 years.

As I have met my OOP maximum for my health insurance, asking my ortho specialist this week if we can get a final decision on my hip replacement. If its happening its happening this year when the surgery will be paid at 100%.

Wait.

Why is that totally useless info? That’s very valuable for you. And being in that boat at this point in the year is an advantage. Trying to get elective surgery (and sometimes even non-elective) in December can be difficult because that’s when a lot of it gets pushed to. Many, many patients don’t get past their deductible until late in the year.

8.75 ounces of high quality Manuka Honey from New Zealand costs 56 dollars on Amazon.

Cheers mate, appreciate it.

Not just met my deductible but my out of pocket maximum. Mrs Nemesis had some medical issues earlier in the year.

I am going to get every nip and tuck that is medically necessary by the end of 2025 :grinning:

3,000 year old Honey that was still edible has been found in the Pyramids.

Something to do with its low water count and high acidity makes it inhospitable for bacteria.

I am sure @SixFoot knows more about this than me.

Bought for my 10 year old Great Pyrenese who has had a horrible cough last 10 days from Prednisone. Vet said to buy it as it has anti bacterial properties and will sooth his throat. So far its done the trick.

I tasted it. Very thick and dry. But man it was good.

That’s pretty much it, though honey can still oxidize/discolor and change flavors. I don’t know if they tasted it or not. I’d be willing to.
