Torres: Controversial police training, banned in 9 states, coming to central Florida

This guy is really leading the race to the bottom among Sheriffs. He is a so called “Constitutional Sheriff.” The irony being that most that use that title are more adept at subverting the Constitution than upholding it.

He will be speaking at a “Street Cop” seminar and using public money to send deputies to attend. Street Cop is literally so bad that it has been banned by nine different States and has led to attending police and deputies being formally retrained to counteract the vile message of the Street Cop seminar.

Informing courts, both Federal and State, that law enforcement in their jurisdiction has attended these seminars is one step towards combatting this. With this knowledge, courts will keep a lot more vigilant eye when officers from these departments appear in their courts.

The “training” is openly racist, as has been undeniably shown. And it teaches cops to violate Constitutional principles.

No Sheriff or Police Chief who speaks to or attends Street Cop seminars should be allowed to continue in office and no officer who voluntarily attends such an event should be retained in employment, though officers who are involuntarily sent to attend should be allowed to serve, provided they renounce anything taught at the seminar.

This is just ■■■■■■■ disgusting all around.

We are trying to clean up policing and this seminar is literally training them to be the worst sort of bad cops.

Thankfully, Street Cop is currently under pressure from several sources and in bankruptcy, so hopefully it will bite the dust for good.
