I have read stories about folks who walk out on the check or make a hissy fit to get food for free, but shooting someone because your con isn’t working is pretty low compared to that.
Occasionally it’s unintentional: years ago my friends and I took a break from playing Champions (superhero RPG) to get food at a local pizza place.
I ordered a “calzone” (some would call it a Stromboli the way they made it) with no onions or green peppers.
When the waitress brought out the food she apologized that they had made it with onions and green peppers.
I sat up straight in the booth (I had been haunched over at eye level with the others), looked down at her and said “I don’t like onions and peppers.”
She retreated and my friends started laughing because it was, in Champions parlance, a perfectly executed presence attack and I wasn’t even aware until they told me that I’d made one. I apologized to the waitress for scaring her. Never even thought about not paying for the food I finally got, though.
The kid was already required to undergo a daily pat-down before entering the school. Required because of previous (unspecified) behavior. He pulled the gun during the pat-down process.
Yes, there are kids out of control. Lots of examples of this.
We also have to start questioning the insistence on continuing to mainstream such kids – in this case, a kid with such a reputation that he requires a daily pat-down before being allowed into the school.
