Yeah,
he’s bigger thatn the second pole.
That’s a sign of something.
2 out of 3 being healthy wild cats doing what they should be doing isn’t bad…considering when I started this I didn’t think I would be able to keep them alive. But again those that been following this thread pretty much knew Clumsy was going to be a problem early on.
I put out a piece tomorrow. Not going to let him starve but afraid if I put out anymore pieces for other cats Clumsy will just second dip which he’s been doing lately.
Here is what AI says.
I estimate they’re about 8 and half months old now. They still have some growing to do. Once fully grown shoulder height should be couple inches higher then that post, not counting their head. Post is 18 inches. Females are around 18 to 20 and males 21 inches or there about.
That big male you all seen must have been around 24 inches at the shoulder. He was a big cat. That male in video while back my guess he was 21/22 inches.
Gimp is clearly showing he’s dominate male around here…acting like he owns this place.
Sometimes I leave little pieces on top of the post for em…he’s checking to see if I left anything. Notice just how big he’s gotten.
Stalker I have not seen in a while since first of the year. I think she may have left the males for reasons only cats will know. I do hope she’s Okay.
On side note coyotes haven’t been marking that post in months now…they’re doing everything to avoid those cats.
I did get this video early morning.
In my house,
when the dog and the cat fought, the cat usually won.
I saw a cat swat a bear on the nose and the bear went running.
It’s clear who owns the night. Gimp on his walk about.
Other day I walked into him, we looked at each other, I talked to him for about 5 minutes, didn’t run away until I started backing off to give him some space…then he ran. ■■■■■■ We were about 10/12 feet away from one another. Beautiful healthy cat.
Clumsy is a freeloader. Now I didn’t see her but twice now food was missing without a trace…only one critter I know that can do that. So she’s still around. I might have seen her too, moved like her but to far away to determine which cat it was.
Little trip down memory lane
I believe this was him.
Remember that post was shorter 13 and quarter inch high at the time.
Ya know
You (we)ahve been watching them and naming them
but they have not been watching you.
They have no idea who you are or why you are trying to steal their food.
LOL they know who I am. Clumsy waits everyday for me. He starts coming out as soon as I start walking away once I place his meal on the post. Now lately I don’t feed them, so if I’m late when I do he doesn’t show up. Which means he moves on. That’s a good sign they he’s not waiting on me all day. Gimp shows up when he wants a snack.
Oh yeah, one day when I place there food on post I walked away when I heard this critter climbing down a tree, same tree that bear was marking his territory…it was Clumsy. He was in the tree watching me. I walked right underneath of him and didn’t know it.
So yeah, they know who I am…and yes they’re fun to watch. Never know where to will find em. It’s always least expected.
Gimp is no doubt dominant Cat. I’m seeing him out in open all the time now, Clumsy I only see at the post when he comes out when I feed him. Stalker remains in the shadows, near the heavy brush. At least that’s her MO.
Meanwhile quails have been taken a hit, rabbits don’t go anywhere near back of the house, I see them along my driveway coming in and out. 2 of 8 remaining squirrels likes to tease Gimp. I have another video of him somewhere chasing one of em.
At some point matting season will be upon us…not sure how that’s going to unfold. Been reading up on it. Male cats usually takes 2 seasons to become active. They’re approximately 9 months old now. So they still have little more growing to do…which means Gimp is going to be a large cat for his species…like his grand daddy was…or his great grand daddy.
I’ve been lucky, state or anyone else hasn’t complained that I know of. So they’re remain hidden from outside world living a life in the wild undisturbed while I basically observe em from distant as much as I can.
Well this sucks. Oh well.
Are your films broken?
OOohh . . . yeah I should have known
Some animals are very smart.
I feed the local birds, and when ya get to know them… their intelligence (and habits) vary a LOT by species, and it is amazing how smart the smart ones are.
