This is what happens when government school teachers brainwash students on global warming

Environmental wackos? Are you unaware it’s been a national park for 104 years?

So logging (as if that even makes sense to begin with) is the “natural” check on pine beetles…

OK.

In some universe clearcutting forests is only bad to “environmentalist whackos”.

But he is right I guess, if there are no forests, no pine beetle problem! Brilliant!

Once idiot Trump allows businesses to dump raw sewage into the potable waterways, you can cheer that Trump wins!

Somehow that makes sense to you, I’m sure.

Let’s just forget that logging and other land uses have have already cleared from 30-90% of forest depending on classification (virgin, old growth, etc…) in North America.

But no… it’s “environmentalist whackos” fault that there is 10% left for pine beetles to decimate.

And who knows how North America managed for millions of years without all this logging…

That’s the way it’s been done for millions of years

And the natural fires also have been a pendulum effect. For years the do aggressive fire supression, then it swings the other way and they let everything burn. Pendulum is swinging back to the jump on every lightning strike and put it out fast.

No. The fires that we always put out is the natural check on them.

Actually no. We put out the little fires until there’s so much deadwood that a bad fire eventually just scorches the earth. That’s not natural.

Which has absolutely zero to do with my post.

Incorrect. He said one good fire and the whole thing would burn down.

You said that’s the way it always been.

It hasn’t. That’s the way it’s become since we started trying to manage the forest better than nature.

Were you aware that the parks service was on the verge of killing the redwoods by putting out the fires there?

The scrub was choking out the trees, and there was no new trees because they didn’t realize that redwoods only drop seeds when a fire is burning. The heat is what causes their cones to open and clears out the scrub for the seeds to take root.

Old growth forest is crappy habitat. It’s actually greener to cut it down and let it grow back.

And I was correct. Unhealthy forests have been rejuvenated by fire since the beginning of time.

Okay, but don’t complain when your social security and medicare get taken away from you because of economic calamity caused by climate change.

Isn’t going to happen. Been hearing the gloom and doom baloney for 50 years now.

I might add that SS is only about one third of my income anyway.

They we’re saying the fires were following the path of beetles.

Well with areas that had fires with healthy trees that survives, only about 5 percent of those tree were effected by beetle.

I’ve followed this story few years ago when they were trying to BS about it back then.

That’s my new “single issue”. I will vote for any politician who promises to do away these socialistic programs

If a remember the fact of that fire right, no California wasn’t to blame. But we are to blame for the severity of many or even most of the bad fires.

We put out the small fires that normally burn through and clear out the undergrowth and deadfall.

But yes, you are right in that trump was wrong about that fire. Many are bad because of us, but that one was not.

No they aren’t…

No it isn’t. It’s required habitat for many species to event exist… it’s not “better or worse” than other stages of forest sucesssion.
