You’re taking a narrow view of things. You are more likely to get shot and killed in the US than in France.
Why is it a narrow view? One can argue on the left and I would say correctly - more guns in the U.S. = more gun deaths. One can also argue equally argue I believe by the stats the more practicers of Islam in your country = more Islamic terrorist attacks. France has the most in Europe.
Japan is a good model they have strict gun laws and no Islam so they don’t suffer from either.
I am not arguing pro or con on guns or gun control here. It’s the whole “people in glass houses…” thing. My point is that people point to France and other Euro countries and say look how crazy those socialists/globalists are and how dangerous they are making their countries. What they don’t realize, apparently, is that we are a much more violent and dangerous society than the socialist Euro countries. As it pertains to violence and random shootings, they have it figured out better than we do.
I would agree with you up until 2015 when Merkel invited 1 million people in from the third world ever since then things have been getting much worse in Western Europe.
I say Western Europe because the counties in Central Europe who didn’t participate in the migration quotas are not having the same problems that are occurring throughout Western Europe. I don’t think that comes from nowhere.
What we don’t hear about as much is the massive amount of terrorist attacked thwarted each year by the security forces in Western Europe and what that extra security is costing tax payers.
Take this graph from Europol and look at the number of religious terrorist attacks stopped in Western Europe and look at the increase since 2014 one year before Merkels open door policies the numbers speak for themselves.
Personally I wish the current political leaders will take care of the problems sadly I think they won’t and the Salvini’s and Le Pens will be elected to take care of the issues and that can get very ugly very fast.
The point is that some people are advocating for policies that would add to our society the highlighted perils of France.
If we’re in danger here already, why add yet another danger?
