Nope, at least I don’t think they are. They just need a happy and productive life in their own country. Assuming the asylum claim is nonsense like most of them are,
People being in their own country is not the same thing as putting them in a bottomless pit, the way the left makes it out to be.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that his attorney claimed he had an asylum claim. Other articles don’t mention it. But if true, having an asylum claim doesn’t automatically get you out of detention.
During a Sunday interview on CNN, the Ohio senator and Republican vice presidential nominee said his evidence for this claim was “the first-hand accounts of my constituents.” He then went on to defend the dissemination of this false story.
“The American media totally ignored this stuff until Donald Trump and I started talking about cat memes," Sen. Vance said. “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that’s what I’m going to do.”
The federal government has the option to release an undocumented alien while their claim for asylum is pending or they can hold them in detention while their case is pending. The Biden administration opted to send them all over the country. The Trump administration, not so much.
For the record, I also believe the vast majority of asylum claims don’t pass muster and they’ll have to go back.
I also have stated in the past many times that Biden’s border policy was ■■■■■■ up and Democrats deserved to lose in 2024 because of it.
My criticism has been two main points:
They should have solely prioritized the worst of the worst first. Get the real criminals and violent people out and publicize that. Once completed as much as possible, prioritize those that are living off the public dole. Once accomplished go after the rest.
The undisciplined, chaotic, and dramatic tactics being used especially against those in the third category were always going to lead to the pushback. A competent admin would have found a way to thread that needle. Unfortunately it’s a feature, not a bug.
Are we talking about the same democrats that managed to lose 300000 children between 2021 and 2025. Why is it that time after time I look at the past performance of these people measured against their current know it all loudness and I find myself thinking “go away and let the adults clean up your mess”!
If only. If only there were some sort of safe agency that law enforcement can use to turn over children who are temporarily without a guardian. I wonder why we as a society have never ever thought to construct an agency like that?
