Now that that is out of the way
I think this has all the bearings of the biggest sports scandal of 21st century
A major star in baseball has money wires from his bank account to betting operations and his interpreter is thrown under the bus. I don’t believe it for a second
That being said i don’t know what Ohtani involvement is but this is turning into a huge story.
This kind of theft from athletes and celebrities happens all the time. Trusted financial advisors, interpreters, stylists, etc., turn out to be thieves. Until there’s some evidence that Ohtani has a gambling problem I don’t really see much of a scandal here.
4.5 mil directly from his account to a bookie is a little too close to home. But you may very well be right
Ohtani has so much to lose that it’s hard to believe he would do something that stupid. But gambling is a compulsion for some, and people do stupid things all the time, so I guess I wouldn’t be that surprised. (See Wander Franco for example.)
That second sentence is exactly it for me.
