The new republican party

Lucky for you you didn’t go to a place where Sharia law IS in England.
You ran a chance not to EVER leave.

“Sharia law has no legal standing in England, as the UK has one law of the land that applies to all citizens. However, Sharia councils exist as advisory bodies, operating in parallel with the legal system, to provide guidance on civil and family matters from an Islamic perspective. Their rulings are not legally binding, and people can always go to the English courts, where British law takes precedence over Islamic law”

Allan

When was Sharia law enacted in England. I would have thought my family and friends would have mentioned it.

You think they will stay just a council for ever.

have so far, why would things change for the worse for UK citizens.

Allan

Because in couple of decades you have towns in the West that went from 0 % Muslim to 55 %.
There is a reason and a purpose to that.
Invasion via Immigration.

Constitutional protections: While Dearborn has a large Arab and Muslim population, it is a diverse city with a variety of places of worship, including many churches. Like all U.S. cities, its laws are based on the U.S. and Michigan constitutions, which protect freedom of religion.

Allan (finds AI helpful when debunking lies)

No. It has a majority Arab-American population.

I’m of the opinion at this point that the following is absolutely true.

This forum’s lefties, Big AL and Lucy, the artist formerly known as Sneaky…

So many of them have nothing to offer other than to drag the rest of us into some kind of “you go low I go lower” name calling game.

It’s pretty vile really…

They have nothing of substance to say, they are losing the policy arguments, so they just go low…

Fascists? Really?

I asked Google “how many people in world history have died fascism…”

“ Fascist regimes are estimated to have killed approximately 27.8 million people during the 20th century. This figure includes deaths from various atrocities committed by fascist governments, particularly during World War II.
Wikipedia Reason Magazine
Estimated Death Toll from Fascist Regimes
Fascist regimes have been responsible for significant loss of life throughout history, particularly during the 20th century. The following table summarizes the estimated number of deaths attributed to major fascist governments:
FASCIST REGIME ESTIMATED DEATHS PERIOD
Nazi Germany (1933-1945) 20.9 million 1933-1945
Italy under Mussolini (1922-1943) 400,000 to 500,000 1922-1943
Japan (1936-1945) 6 million 1936-1945
Other fascist regimes (various) 1 million+ Various periods”

So there is no comparison. Enforcing the law, working to stop crime, securing the border and deporting illegals…

Hardly the same as millions and millions who have died thru the decades.

Can you libs just stop please?

Fascism doesn’t start at those high numbers :joy:

It starts here, from today:

Trump: I don’t think we’re gonna necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we’re just gonna kill people. Okay? We’re gonna kill them. They’re gonna be, like, dead.

Then add a pinch of slurping:

Stephen Miller: “Let me just say Mr President that this country was going to die without you. This country was going to actually die without you … you alone saved it.”

Oh and of course, Anti American scumbags who will gleefully crap on the Constitution for another scumbag:

Steve Bannon: “Well he’s gonna get a third term. Trump is gonna be president in ‘28 and people ought to just get accommodated with that. At the appropriate time we’ll lay out what the plan is, but there’s a plan and President Trump will be the president in ‘28.”

My name. Yo mouf.

That’s a “grown man”

Really? So, we’ve been in 1933 for almost 5 years now? I’ll give you a little history lesson. The brownshirts were executing people BEFORE the NAZI’s took power. And they continued for nearly a decade. You’re welcome.

So when exactly should we expect your goofball ideas to start kicking in?

The New Republican Party.

It is interesting watching it unfold.

“Defend the Homeland!”

The GOP has become the party of corruption, graft, grift. Comer in CNN:

Tapper: Trumps made $800 million in crypto from foreign influence in half a year. Will you look into that?

Rep. James Comer: We’re trying to digest it. The difference between the Trump family and the Biden family is that they’re admitting they’re doing it.

Fascism starts and is allowed to grow because people ignore baby steps.

No one is saying Trump is killing millions but his actions are certainly pushing the boundaries of presidential power and in many instances plain ignoring it.

What bothers me more is the normalization of this. Future presidents will feel emboldened to act in a similar way and over time we see this cointry move away from the ideals it was founded on.

Its insane how cons who have always seemed to have a healthy mistrust of government now give Trump carte blanche to act in any way he wants and make excuses for him.
