The West won the cold war, now they are surrendering to the Marxists! The iron curtain is making a comeback, only now it’s all over the West.

Authoritarians who imprison people for noticing Islamists are raping and beating, imposing Sharia, and advocating taking over, creating a new Califate - or daring to oppose abortion, the insane trans movement, or drag queens pole dancing for kinder gardeners, or preachers daring to advocate Christian principles, or people praying silently 500 feet from an abortion clinic, or near an abortion clinic inside their home…

We no longer have a “special relationship”.

I believe the US should let all of Europe know we will soon withdraw from NATO if they don’t reverse course on free speech and religion. Free speech DEFINE’S FREEDOM. No country that does not allow free speech and religion is a free country, it is the DEFINTION OF DICTATORSHIP!

We should only support free countries. Period. Exactly what would we be fighting for if they were attacked? Not freedom!

They have lost their way. The left has taken over and are setting up their dystopian and oppressive world. I hope the leftists get thrown out of power in every “Western” country. At this point, I see no difference between them and Russia. In fact, Russia has jailed maybe 400 people over speech. Europe jailed tens of thousands and continue to do so.

Their government is evil and should be recognized as such. We should not have alliances with them any longer.

Yup, but they always advocated free speech and all the items in the OP actually happened and are happening. None of that has been this way till the last few years. They are not free. I think we should tell them we are willing to withdraw from NATO if they aren’t willing to have free countries.

They pretended speech is free then murdered the Irish in England, prevented the immigrants from holding political office or becoming citizens in Germany, isolated anyone who doesn’t look like them in urban areas in France, Belgium, holland, etc. Europe is being Europe. I know more that you think. I have relatives born there. They are doing things they never did before. They are getting worse every year. I don’t see them turning back. I just see them going farther and farther into leftist Marxist insanity/dictatorship.

Personally I don’t think it will get better without civil war. I hope for better, but I don’t think it’s going to happen.

It will only be another iron curtain if you are prohibited from leaving. That’s what the iron curtain was … a barrier from leaving and strict control over philosophical ideas coming in.

Europe has been a cesspool of tribal hatred since before the Roman Empire. Waging war on each other is their natural state. Thinking that structures like the EU, and its previous incarnations, would somehow evolve Europe away from its warring barbarian horde instincts is one of the biggest fool’s errands in human history.

Oh I don’t know, I think they have been fairly successful so far. There have been far fewer wars on the Continent since the end of WWII than during any other equal period in that long sordid history.
