Being part of the Deep State he probably should have said “Deep 6 47” which actually is more sinister in origin than “86”.

He will claim its free speech but took it down to not cause further misunderstanding. Sure its a tenous link to his new book but hey publicity is publicity.
Its no coincidence he posts this just before his new fiction novel is published. I am not defending it just saying its a pretty good way to get himself back in the spotlight, the story will run for a few days and he will sell more books.

His leaking was sufficient reason to fire the guy, though it was not the given reason. He even leaked internal fbi memos aimed at hurting Trump going through a law professor friend of his, so the leaks couldnt be traced to him.
