The Chiefs should stay in Kansas City, MO. The voters in KC had a chance to keep their team, but they blew it by voting down a referendum to help fund for renovations of Arrowhead Stadium. So, of course, you will expect them to whine and demand that their team stays in Missouri.
On one level I don’t care much about this issue. Towns and municipalities and states and sports teams can do what they think is in their best interests.
On the other hand, I’m not a fan of governments propping up sports teams. It rarely works out in a financially positive way for the area or the government funding it.
In this case, voters spoke, and governments reacted and the Chiefs leveraged those reactions to their advantage. In the end, it’s the residents/voters of the respective areas that chose this outcome.
