The future of public schools

What is the solution to fix our schools?

Should we privatize? Do vouchers work?

Can we learn from other countries that have better results?

This is a strawman…most people want the least amount of government in our lives, and at the same time, having a government that that is effective, fair and accountable.

Do we get there by calling those we disagree with irrational names and contempt?

First and foremost I’d eliminate the department of education. There should be two types of schools; well behaved and misbehaved. Remove problem children from being a negative influence on those that aren’t and the well behaved children’s grades will improve. The misbehaved children schools would have a more stringent code and enforcement with the hope of teaching them both educationally and socially. If they truly improve, they’ll be offered a pathway to transfer to the well behaved school once again.

Sure. We could learn from Korea, one of the highest rated areas for schools, by having all Korean students.

and the illiterate graduates of the zoo will be paying taxes to support your social security lock box…

wait…

Are these publicly funded? Where do the problem kids go? Is there not already similar like that in place? How do we get parents to take a more involved role? Do you think the constant attack on public schools by conservatives has an impact?

Sorry, I was asking a genuine question. We have been a diverse country for the majority of our existence.
It is a challenge, but it also has positive effects as well.

Yes. It’s publicly funded. I answered that. If there was, these teachers would not be saying this. I’d have a monetary bonus program that would go to the home of a misbehaved child’s family as their grades improve. It isn’t an attack, it’s saying the truth out loud. My grandchildren are going to a private school where good behavior is a requirement.

Paying parents for kids to be good in school? …is that your solution?

Most people do not have the means to send their kids to private schools.

I’m sure that when the Harris administration lets in another 10-20 million illegals that these problems will fix themselves.

How about calling those you disagree with “deplorable”, or “mega maga extremists”, or “white supremacists”, “homophobes” etc., How about we’re coming for you Kavanaugh, we’re coming for you Gorsuch? Dem politicians have perfected the art of hate and division. It’s also laughable with you saying how most people want the least amount of government in their lives when all you talk about is how government should be in charge of and fund all aspects of education, healthcare, childcare, etc. Please tell me of all the negative things that have happened in the country that you blame Democrats for?

Why do you think many countries are crime infested poverty-stricken ■■■■■■■■■ decade after decade? Why do you think certain ethnic groups (proportionally) have been very successful in the US while others have not? If the children going into our schools increasingly continue to be from broken dysfunctional families along with importing millions and millions of impoverished children and their problems from every country in the world, it won’t matter how much ■■■■■■■ money and new government programs are implemented. If there were all these magic fixes out there wouldn’t every country just plop them into place and fix all the problems?

No…that’s your misinterpretation.

The fact that what you’re saying is true, is in part why. Good behavior is taught and passed on from generation to generation and is a strong factor in your economic life. That’s why a school for misbehaved children may be very beneficial to this nation in the long run. They could be converted from financially depending on the government to becoming tax generators.

I dunno if it can be fixed since it’s mostly a demographic issue. Certain demographics of school age have issues.

But i would certainly love to see the US adopt a German styled primary education system. It’s the best in the world. But I dunno if we could actually pull it off.

A better approach to “education” would be to throw out this cookie cutter notion that the goal of “education” is to mold all students into these well-rounded academic polymaths. The goal of education as students approach their teenage years should shift from a focus on academics to that of a career. The 4-year-high school-4-year-college approach is ineffective, takes too long, and costs too much.

That’s why I like the German system. It’s designed to figure out what the student is good at early and then softly steer them into coursework designed for that kind of career goal.

That said I do think it is important for everyone to learn the basics of the humanities and philosophy.

Uhhh. What?

I agree with you on that as well, which is why I believe a better system transitions the focus at the teenage years but doesn’t eliminate the academics altogether.

The Left would NEVER want do something like this because if large percentages of specific ethnic groups begin dominating certain careers then the cries of racism would explode.

Yeah it’s easy for the Germans due to how homogenous their society is. They don’t have to worry about such matters like we are forced to for some God forsaken reason.
