Why should we pay respect to a person that doesn’t himself respect the office?

You gotta give it to get it.

In most cases yes, but not all. For Example; Even though I may not agree
with someone that is a Democrat that is a Veteran of the war, doesn’t mean
that I at least have some respect for the fact that a person did serve America.

Does a Veteran not deserve any respect automatically, at least some what?
Or are you going to tell me that you gatta give it to get it, to them also?

A veteran only deserves respect if they aren’t captured. Or if they are smart enough to fake a disability so they don’t have to serve in the first place.
