anti-intellectualism rears its ugly head once again.

Allan

 Are you an intellectual?

are you kidding me?

of course.

Allan

Knowing lots of subjectively questionable information is not, and never has been, intellect. The problem with so-called intellectuals is they confuse acquired information with intelligence/understanding.

That was a horrific display and deserves harsh consequences. They should all get fired.

Any of a hundred or so neoNAZIs calling for genocide deserves prison. Any of thousands on the left calling for genocide deservesā€¦context.

Iā€™ll glady take anti-intellectualism if ā€œintellectualismā€ means that calls for genocide of Jewish people need to be contextualized in order to be considered bullying and harassment.

If you ask someone the time of day and they sit back in their chair, put their fingers together and cough before returning a qualified response, that is an intellectual.

Letā€™s remember this moment when eight months from now some nutbag does a sieg heil at a Trump campaign rally and everyone will pretend like this is the single existential threat to civilization.

My son will be getting his entry level electrical apprentice certification at our local community college. It is a certification program that will allow him entry level hiring under a Master Electrician. It is 4 classes, 12 credit hours at in district rates. He will get hired and continue to progress towards a Master Electrician some time in his early 30s. And he wonā€™t have any college debt with this.
