If you canāt see the difference between a woman being force to carry a non-viable fetus to term and a man paying child support, then, wellā¦I wonder if you are tainted by life experiences. But whatever the reason, itās an absurd comparison.
Now, mind you, Iām not saying the child support system we have is great. Iāve seen first hand the absurdities of it in some situations, but to compare that to Coxās situation is dumb.
But no one is forcing them to do any of those things. And as we both know, America is filled with men who donāt. Who renege on what I think we agree on as the what one doesā¦
No one forced you (if you have kids) to be a present father, to provide a stable household, to be involved etc. At most, they forced you to send money to the woman you impregnated, and you could even get out of that if you wanted to by fleeing the state or country.
There are other explanations for your posts, but if you think raising your kids, being present, providing, guiding and nurturing, and yes, funding them, is a state mandated chore, on explanation is, you havenāt been touched by the experience.
There is no law that I am aware of that says a man has to be a good parent. Any more than there is a law that says a woman has to be a good parent.
There is a law in TX that says a woman has to carry a non-viable fetus to term.
While that is similar to a law that says a man must pay child support in that it is the state getting mandating a behavior, in terms of restricting personal freedoms and choices, there is a world of difference between being forced to write a check and being forced to carry a pregnancy to term.
But my opinion is based on my own life experiences, and the idea that I should be financially responsible for my kids does not seem overly burdensome, or really, any kind of big deal. Seems like small potatoes. YMMV based on your on experience, or lack there of, with the subject.
