Leaders in Tehran warned the United States this week of an “unimaginable and regrettable” response should the US strike Iran; adding America “should not play with the lion’s tail.”
Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major. Gen. Mohammad Bagheri issued the overt threat through an official statement Tuesday, saying President Trump’s warning of “historic consequences” would be met with a “strong response.”
“As our president correctly pointed out, the enemies, particularly America, whose centers of interest are within reach of the visible and hidden defense forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, should not play with the lion’s tail,” said Bagheri. “Because they will receive a strong, unimaginable and regrettable response of great magnitude in the region and the world.”
“If America wants to take a serious step in this direction it will definitely be met with a reaction and equal countermeasures from Iran,” added a spokesperson with the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
