If libs weren’t so sinister in their voting fraud, none of this would matter.
And that’s the trade off…
The more secure you make elections the harder it will be to vote.
tnt:Why does same day matter?
Aren’t paper ballots easy to fraudulently copy and slip into the pile? Isn’t that what the claims were re: 2020 and suitcases full of ballots? I realize that never happened, but I bellieveyou still believe it did. Isn’t the system you are advocating for open to the abuses you think happened in 2020?
It reduces the possibility for fraud.
The election is supposed to be monitored, thereby reducing that possibility. One person, one vote. No mules.
The balance of security and convenience. How much convenience are we will to give up for more security?
Generally speaking, consumers value convenience over security. This is why ATMs exist or the fact that I can take a photo of a check and get all (or part) of the money deposited into my account instantly.
Same goes for voting.

Seniors are going to have a very hard time with this.

If it’s not important enough in your world that you’d label it inconvenient, then your laziness precludes you from this year’s vote. Now…isn’t that simple and effective…just like “we” like it?

Not around here, it is really very simple, and if someone has questions, a poll worker is available to assist.

What if voting required a retina scan, finger print, signatures and bill verification… and none of it could be done ahead of time… all same day… and you had to wait in line for 12 hours to vote and only on paper ballots. That would be an unbelievably secure election.
Would you be “lazy” if you didn’t want to go through that much to cast a 5 min vote?

When you’re done presenting ridiculous scenarios about things that aren’t required, deal with today’s parameters like I did.
(of course exception for those with health issues//military)

I offered a very secure solution. Would you be ok with that secure solution I offered?
If not, would that make you lazy?

This makes no sense.
What do you think of my very secure solution? Would that work?

You answered your own question.
We can make apps for financial institutions for phones that are “secure” and do hundreds of millions or billions in dollar value of traffic.
Why can’t an election app be made. One social security number, one vote. Votes can be placed anywhere you have service for 24hrs. Libraries and govt buildings could have kiosks for folks that don’t have a phone.
When you register to vote you’re given a username and password that you use to login that’s tied to your SSN.

100% agree.
The only issue to be solved is making the vote secret. We would need a lot of checks and balances to make sure that no attribution could happen.

That wouldn’t be too difficult so long as you trusted/verified the coder of the app. If the coder had nefarious intentions there’d be problems.
It’s the digital age. Make it go digital.

And to expound:
For the left: going digital will eliminate the needs for absentee and early voting. Your physical location at the time of voting would be irrelevant and would be a much easier process encouraging more participation in voting.
For the right: early and absentee voting would go away. Some aspects would be more secure since it’s tied to a SSN making it one citizen one vote. You could argue that people could still log in for elderly relatives and vote for them, and that’s true, but that’s already true of absentee ballots.

You would not get any disagreement from me. I think it is well pass time to implement this.
Nothing wrong with being secure but a hand filled out paper ballot with a simple copy and receipt is just as secure.
It all started with the Florida paper ballots in 2000. For political purposes, it was necessary to pretend that filling out a simple paper ballot was terribly complex and no ordinary person could be expected to follow the instructions.
