I want the same joy in life for all and lived through a time in our nation’s history, where I witnessed the patriotic unity and the common denominator of Christ as our country’s foundation.
Exactly! Because we hear ever so often about thieves breaking into the homes of ex presidents and stealing stuff right??
Now if those Top secret documents were on a private server in Trumps bathroom that had been hacked… Well you might have a legitimate reason to be concerned! Oh, wait a minute… since that incident already happened with Hillary Clinton, who actually DID commit a crime, and the FBI gave her a pass, and you Libs said nothing, I’d say you’re nothing but a typical Lib hypocrite. But by all means, keep the false Trump narrative going and let your scumbag leaders keep falsely persecuting him and see how that works for you guys in the elections…
Oh yes my friend…there was. The generation that dealt with WWI, the great depression and WWII were my grandparents. The next generation born just before and after the great depression were my parents. The hardships they endured taught them what are the most important things in life and it’s not money. This was the mindset of the majority of our nation because so many, endured the hardships of so much. I was there and personally witnessed this. Now…I’ve done my best to transfer this mindset to my children and by their results, their mother and I have. My next goal is to do the same for my grandchildren.
Sounds familiar. Mom is almost 97 and very much engaging. Conversations with her about life as a young girl growing up in a southwestern PA Agricultural Coal mining town, the WWII years as a teen, meeting our Dad an Army vet etc,etc is like looking into the past. They endured hardship that if given the same circumstances today I wonder if Americans could rise to the occasion.
9/11 and the aftermath was the last national crisis I can think of where the country as a whole gave a ■■■■ about America.
After watching so many Americans pitch a fit over something as simple as wearing a mask in public so to not possibly harm their fellow Americans I’m gonna say that’s a big ol’ NOPE.
All these Dem establishment elites disdain Conservatives and pretty much anyone who doesn’t worship at their alter! Many of them largely view most white Americans as racists, along with having their own racists views of so-called white America. Many of them largely disdain Christians and Christianity, although they do adhere to their own religion of secular humanism with themselves as the high priests.
All these types of ■■■■■■■■ speeches are nothing but elites pointing their fingers at people to tell them how stupid they are, or how racist they are. This is all done in the veil of hubris without a shred of humility.
You still offered an overly-simplistic view of history.
There was never a time where we were untied by a patriotic joy whose common denominator was Christ.
That simply did not happen.
And this doesn’t even take into account that trying to replicate things in a time that doesn’t have the same surrounding context is an exercise doomed to failure.
There are lessons to be learned from history.
Wistfully and nostalgically looking back is not the way to apply those lessons.
I agree with the sentiment that the focus should be taken off pure economic well being as a measure of success, though.
…and yet, they don’t experience the happiness from a successful marriage that unitedly guides the children they bring into the world, into adulthood. Real happiness comes from observing their successes and their happiness. It’s exemplified even more when they do the same and have children, unitedly with their spouse, guiding them into adulthood. Just seeing this brings a joy money can not buy. Until you make the necessary sacrifices in your life, to experience this later on, you’re ignorant to actual happiness. Instead I’m seeing depression, drugs, divorce and high rates of suicide and the flaunting of material things…being sold to so many who are buying into it.
