Is this a thing? Are liberals concerned about censoring right wing talk radio? I don’t think this is a thing.

Who cares what he spends his money on?

You’d be better off investing in what he’s doing than in a Trump project :joy:

car radios (and not always talk radio either)

I’ll give you one guess who’s got their panties in a twist and is demanding Big Daddy Government for protection, because automakers don’t want to put obsolete AM radios in their cars anymore.

Someone appears to be “special”.

“Under existing FCC rules, foreign company ownership of US radio stations is not supposed to exceed 25%. Soros took foreign investment to make his bid and then made a filing asking the commission to make an exception to the usual review process, according to public documents,” Moynihan added. “The FCC decision to fast-track his deal is the first time in modern history such a deal has been approved by the full Commission without first running the national security review process—a process that could take up to a year or more.”

No fair. All local radio and tv broadcasting must be divided between the fiefdoms of iHeartRadio, the Salem Radio Network, Sinclair Broadcasting, and other similar rightwing garbage chutes. It’s simply disgraceful for there to be other voices backed by other rich people on the air.

I’m 2+ decades over 50. I have a Sirius subscription and listen to radio every day sometimes for hours mostly music.
I feel sorry for people who don’t listen to the radio.

I guess you are thrilled to learn how well Newsmax tv is making out.

Newsmax Broke Ratings Records in July

Nielsen reported on Newsmax’s July 2024 and found:

22.6 million viewers tuned into Newsmax – up 68% since July 2023 and 46% since June 2024.
Newsmax was a top 10 cable channel in total viewers for 9a to 8p.
The Company was #2 for viewer “Engagement” for all of cable news in key 35-64 demo.
Newsmax Prime Time beat CNBC, Fox Business and Newsnation combined.

Yep like me you listen to satellite radio, I was talking about terrestrial radio.

Between that, audiobooks and podcasts I cannot imagine ever listening to terrestrial radio again.

You did ask: “. . . Does anyonewho is not over 50 still listen to radio?” If they aren’t, perhaps they have switched to tv.

Perhaps but methinks you just wanted to shoehorn that fact into any old thread.

The challenge Newsmax like other cable news channel’s is that the growing under 50 demographic does not consume news in what was deemed the traditional way. And over time the demographic that is watching them is slowly dying ouy.

When the younger generations hit 50 plus its not like a switch will be triggered and suddenly they will start to watch cable news.

Same for news print media, i cannot remember the last time i bought a newspaper. Go to any airport departue area and the vast majority of people are on smartphones, tablets, laptops etc.

Nuff said, We apparently agree on the “perhaps”.

Disney owns FOX now. It’s no longer the news source anyone needs it to be.

Actually, traitorous Paul Ryan was put in charge over Fox Corp. after it was separated from Disney Productions. Of course, it was all an illusion attempting to save Disney’s hit in the stock market. But it isn’t freaken working! Disney stock is still in the toilet, and rightly so! And Fox News is hemorrhaging its audience to Newsmax.

Best way of phrasing it that anyone could have come up with.

It’s funny watching newsmax viewership grow while OAN collapsed and Fox is losing viewers

Need that golden middle.

Crazy but just crazy enough.
