Self-described Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez weighed-in on the recent Florida gubernatorial primary Wednesday; praising Bernie Sanders-backed candidate Andrew Gillum for working to “legalize marijuana and abolish ice.”

I do believe abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to be something of a liberal goal,
though.
I would venture to say that even among liberals, not all support unchecked immigration, so this idea would go outside those of more centrist liberals.
I don’t think people realize that ICE has only existed for 15 years, and the “abolish ICE” talking point is actually about spinning immigration away from homeland security where everyone and everything is treated like a threat. You could make the case that many people, such as myself, would support both abolishing ICE and enforcing tougher rules at the border.
The right is obsessed with this primary winner, it’s funny.

If you think ICE is an overbearing and unnecessary part of the DHS that has been locking up ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of asylum seekers at the El Paso border crossing, you are a flaming lib who wants nothing more in life than open borders with signs inviting killers, rapists and pedophiles with cash incentives.
