The mainstream media’s all-out war with the President continued this week, with multiple media outlets bizarrely attacking the First Lady over the jacket she wore while visiting immigration centers in Texas.
“First lady Melania Trump’s visit to a Texas facility housing migrant children separated from their parents threatened to be overshadowed Thursday by a jacket she wore bearing the words: ‘I really don’t care, do u?’” reports Fox News.
According to the Daily Mail, the jacket is from Spain-based outfitter Zara and costs upwards of $39.
The First Lady wore the jacket while boarding her airplane in Maryland, but emerged wearing another after landing in Texas.
A spokesperson for Mrs. Trump slammed the coverage, saying “If media would spend their time & energy on her actions & efforts to help kids - rather than speculate & focus on her wardrobe - we could get so much accomplished on behalf of children.”
the jacket doesn’t even make sense on any level. She is invoking a “be best” campaign, she’s venturing on a trip of empathy, she doesn’t have a history of trolling. The only thing I can figure is someone slipped it into her wardrobe, and she put it on by mistake.
Pat Kirwan wrote an excellent book about football called “Take Your Eye Off The Ball”.
The title referenced the fact that if you really wanted to understand the game and know what was going on during any given play, the worst thing you could do was watch the football because that’s not where the action that made the play succeed or fail was taking place.
We need to keep this concept in mind when studying Donald Trump’s Presidency from now on.
As much as you want to get sucked in by the spectacle…don’t.
Take Your Eye off the Chaos and look behind the curtain.
