If you throw the quote up it all falls apart.
He was not inviting “immigrants” to surge the border, he was speaking about the US govt.

They can submit a thousand if they want to…it’s about getting things passed. You know governing…
And it’s not just Lindsey, you got Thune, Cornyn and about everyone else saying the same thing.
I also voted for Mr. Pothead in 2012. His platform was more appealing than the other two clowns.

It’s a dumb argument either way. Immigrants surged the border when Covid pandemic started waning. The same thing happened with inflation.
Most everything surged immediately following Covid pandemic… if Trump was in office, the same surge would have happened. However I will admit, Trump probably would have been more authoritative with the response to it. I fully believe Trump would have shutdown the border.
RTchoke:
Where does it say they can’t submit 2 separate bills? That’s ■■■■■■■■ and you know it. Dems want to play games. don’t be surprised when they don’t get their way.
Trying to use LIndsey to make your case is scraping the bottom of the barrel. lol

Like that helps? lol
There is no reason they must be tied together. Have your party f=grow a set and take on illegal immigration and the border as an issue alone. We all know why they won’t.
It’s a convenient angle but its BS and you know it.
This is how governing works always has always will.
The reason hardline pugs are opposed has nothing to to do with Ukraine and everything about losing an edge on the issue.

No, that’s not true.
Hogwash dude. Pretending that is not having an effect is disingenuous.
You are assuming illegals are ignorant. Bad assumption.
No I’m not. There told over and over again about the open borders by the CEC. It makes it worth the risk and adds fuel to the fire.
Yes, you are. They understand very well where their bread is buttered between the two parties.
And they’re getting coaching.
It’s a great political issue to defang it now is not good.
That’s how negotiations work
Yup
From a political standpoint it makes sense.
Once you (Pres Biden) know that a policy is dead,
ending it as part of a trade-off
is better than ending it with no trade-off.
We’re getting off track and digressing into the usual.
A more “humane border” or however you want to phrase it has been a campaign platform for the DNC since 2016.
Promises made, speeches given, tears shed.
The current administration has denied there is a crisis until very recently.
On what basis do dems support millions of illegals setting up camp in this country?
Do you feel sorry for them?
Do you want something from them?
Why do you support illegal immigration and more of it with each governing year?
It’s a convenient angle but its BS and you know it.

Take Ukraine out. It’s not like every ■■■■■■■ dime asked for hasn’t passed this Congress. There is no need to tie the funding to anything to get it to pass.
What specifically does the Senate bill do to curb illegal immigration and deal with the border influx?
The problem with your questions is that they are dishonest.
If you start with “why do you Dems support the influx of illegals” it all ends there.
Oryx:
Many Democratic Party voters favor stronger border security and immigration reform.
Again…not true.
Biden is carrying out precisely what most democrats want.
To be fair, “many” and “most” can be very different things.
A million dems is many. It’s “many many”!
But it’s only a slim fraction of all dems, so hardly most.
I would say you are both right, and talking past each other.
Your realize there is bipartisan support for Ukraine aide right?

You voted for it. And will again. How can you claim not to support it?
This thread is not about Ukraine.
Sorry it came up as there is a Senate bill currently being worked on with the WH, which aims to update our asylum laws and deportation criteria.
But it seems the big stickler is that it also includes Ukraine aid.
What is your stance on the border issue? What do you want to see? Are you aligned with the DNC policies you are voting for?
Updated asylum laws, streamlined system for legal immigration, work permits for low skilled workers based on need.
100% alignment is never possible
Updated asylum laws, streamlined system for legal immigration, work permits for low skilled workers based on need.
Updated asylum laws how?
How will you address the invasion?
Your realize there is bipartisan support for Ukraine aide right?
Duh? Didn’t I just say that it would pass no matter what if on it’s own and didn’t need to be tied to immigration law?
