The law specifically requires Homeland security to retain and start removal processes for aliens committing crimes, and allows the residents of the state to sue to force action.
The immediate effect would be none, as this is what the upcoming administration intends to do anyway. If (heaven forbid) we get another administration like the Biden administration, it would prevent them from ignoring criminal illegal aliens.

Big John being a real force for independent thinking in the Senate.
Fetterman is still (D) all the way.
Trump’s nominations are going to get all the (R)s, so they’ll get confirmed whether or not Fetterman (or any other (D) ) joins in.
I’ll accept Fetterman as being an independent thinker in the Senate when all (D)s but him channel Schumer, and he becomes the deciding vote on something.

I look at it as Fetterman filling the Manchin vacuum.
He will still mostly vote D.
I really do appreciate Fetterman strong stance with Israel. I think it is important.
