I get it. I know what it pays for. But Hillary had the best ground game in the history of ground games. Also had 3X the money Trump had, if not more.
I just think that everything you listed, as long as both sides have enough money to do it, extra money doesn’t seem to turn the tide. As long as both candidates can get their message across, hitting all of your bullet points, that’s all that matters. I don’t thin money beyond that will make an impact. But I could be totally wrong.
Elon Musk and Kamala Harris would like to have a word with you.
Musk spent $3 million in Wisconsin. Where did that get him?
Remember how much Harris spent in 2024? $1.5 billion (about 3x the Trump Campaign) and she still got spanked (note: this is not saying there was a landslide, because that clearly wasn’t the case).
Money can’t buy elections. If it did, we would be talking about President Harris.
No it is and I have been consistent over two decades now that the way we fund our political system is wrong. I fundamentally disagreed with Citizens United but accepted the SC decision.
Sigh - We have discussed this before in other threads but here we go again:
Unlimited money in politics screws voters by letting rich donors and corporations drown out individual voters voices. It pushes policies favoring the wealthy, corporations and lobbyists.
It also restricts candidate diversity, and fuels more attack ads which are divisive and spread misinformation on a scale never before seen.
Individual Voters feel ignored and trust in our political system erodes, and polarization worsens.
An example of this in 2020, just 100 donors funded over 20% of Super PACs. This illustrates its a system where cash buys influence.
And all of this impacts me because I live here, my children live here, my grandchildren live here.
What “individual voters voices”? Saying what to whom?
Is your complaint that candidates kowtow to donors? That will be true no matter what the limits are and akways has been.
People are going to vote for their own emotions no matter what Soros or the Kochs say.
“Individual voters” don’t choose the king, parties do. Not corporations, not the media, not PACs.
See Trump.
And another thing, Biden didn’t win, Trump lost. Trump is the only reason Biden was ever President.
The American electorate votes for personalities and BS promises, not policies.
Beyonce running as the Retard Party candidate would trounce any candidate Musk could run, even if he spent every penny he has.
I realize you can’t vote, but what could any republican or America party candidate do to get your vote if you could? How could the Koch brothers buy your vote?
