It seems worse that a girl would be drafted and possibly be shot to death.
I figured as much. If you had daughters you would possibly understand.

Yeah. Whatever you say.
Back at you. Does my son have more rights or privileges as a citizen than your daughters?

But it still begs the question.
Even if she was inducted, chances are low she would be sent to combat arms. There are a lot of āstrategicā MOSās and of course plenty of support MOSās. Very unlikely the military would send a female to a combat arms MOS. Plus many would be routed to the Air Force and Navy.

I see that as irrelevant. And prejudicial.

Find it hard to believe you didnāt raise him to think he had a duty to protect women and children.

Not in combat. Oh and that was a compliment.

Why not in combat.
Because they are no physical match for men. If we ever get into a war against an all female army, Iāll consider it.

That article has a glaring error, Wilder did not graduate or even come close finishing.
But there you go.
So are sons more disposable than daughters?
Apparently so.
I donāt have any children. But I would be equally horrified if either were forced to go to a distant land against their will assuming I had kids.
If they volunteer, thatās great.
To be forcibly conscripted and made to go under threat of imprisonment? That is appalling to me. Their gender doesnāt matter.

No, just more suited to combat with other males.
TheRedComet:
Easy solution. End selective service and ban congress from ever reintroducing conscription through constitutional amendment.
Either that or make women eligible for conscription. It has to be one or the other.
No it doesnāt. Weāve had Selective Service since 1917. Women have not been conscripted.
Personally I think that it should be all women, heck this is the year 2020. We need to be an example to all the world how genuinely woke we are!
