Also, Mexico has a 85%+ vaccinatre rate.
The backlash from a safe and effective covid vaccine? So the backlash from that is going to be killing children and setting back disease immunity decades. Y’all have some ■■■■■■ up priorities.

There was only a fringe segment of society yammering about vaccines BC. (Before Covid.) And they were relegated to the fringe. But government overreach when it came to covid vaxxes opened a Pandora’s box of questions and doubts. A lot of damage was done in the realm of trusting ANY vaccines, and it’s going to take a lot of work to overcome that.
As for the measles cases and vaxxes, in the BC years quite a few vaccines were routinely and summarily given to kids, even though this-disease or that-disease had been virtually wiped out. I would still give my newborn the MMR and other scheduled vaxxes without hesitation today even though we are in the AD years (After Disease.) Those vaccines have been tried and tested and vetted, some over generations of the population. AND WE LIVE IN A MOBILE WORLD, so even if polio (never mind measles here in the US) has been eradicated in Western countries (never mind just the USA) a wayward carrier could still bring it here.
And I think we’re playing with fire in that we no longer vaccinate for smallpox. Sure, it has been eradicated worldwide by all accounts. I just wonder what would happen if some archaeological dig, or some permafrost melt releases the virus. (Or Russia releases biologcal warfare on the West!)
Having RFK (and the government) cranking the Pandora’s box open even wider is (in my opinion) just as harmful as the govt actions in the early 2020s.

I think the mandates hurt the cause long term. That really drove people crazy. Yeah the Vax was proven safe but it was very new. People, even more reasonable people who believed in Vaccines otherwise, were put off by that.
Looking back, shouldn’t have done the mandates.

With all due respect. Tough ■■■■ . People were doing the best they could to save lives. And if people needed a back rub instead of a life saving vaccine, they should have shut the ■■■■ up read a Wikipedia page about vaccine safety.
