Someone brought this up a while back. Personally, I think this would be vindictive as hell, not a good look at all. If any of these people are contracting or even consulting, pulling their clearance ends that tootsweet. That’s pretty damn harsh.
But, on the other hand, they used their privileged position to push their political ideology, so they probably deserve it. They can make whatever meager living they can writting butt hurt books and peddling them to the perpetually aggrieved whiners.
Vindictive as hell, but I remember dudes in the Army who lost their clearances for filing bankruptcy and had to reclassify as cooks or some kind of similar low-security positions. Lord knows these swamp creatures have done worse.
Too Bad. If you’re one of those who supported the Steele Dossier, the Trump/ Russia hoax, declared the Hunter laptop to be Russian misinformation, had sex with a Chinese spy, then you need to go. You simply cannot be trusted with classified info. Democrat operatives have no business in the DOJ. Find a job you can do honestly.
I’ve know a few who lost or had their clearance suspended. Most of it was pretty petty stuff, a few deserved it. In my opinion, leveraging that privilege in order to push your own political agenda is deserving of having your clearance pulled. But, it will absolutely appear vindictive and I’m not sure that is what Trump needs to do.
I guess we’ll see what he does. One way or the other I’m not really going to care.
Biden could have ended the whole issue of possession of classified documents if he had allowed Trump a security clearance. He chose not to do so. Trump owes those people nothing.
No criminal prosecutions unless there is an offense so strong it can’t be ignored. The failure of lawfare is a deterrent to its future use, not the opportunity to apply it again in revenge.
I agree with the idea. All security clearances should be connected with current attachment to government work. It shouldn’t matter whose administration you served. If you are not currently employed, either directly or contractually you should not have clearance.
